Somaliland's hopes for international recognition

But away from the violence of Mogadishu, there's a part of the country which is prospering - Somaliland. Last year, it held a presidential election which was praised by international observers. The BBC's Zeinab Badawi has been given rare access to Somaliland and reports from the capital, Hargeisa.

While Somalia's been ravaged by war for years, a northern part of the country has been living in relative peace. Somaliland's already declared independence but to little international recognition.
